A Lughnasadh Tarot Spread for Kids
Lughnasadh, or Lammas is coming up in the Northern Hemisphere on August 1st. It’s the time of year when grain is harvested and used to make bread, cereal, pasta, and cake. (Yum!)
Lughnasadh is also a great time to appreciate the element of water, because it coincides with the hottest part of the summer. We are reminded how important water is for drinking, swimming, and caring for our beloved plants and animals.
Both water and grain can nourish our bodies.
Pull one card to represent what nourishes you besides grain and water.
But for lots of people around the world, food, water, and other nourishment are not abundant.
Pull a second card to represent an action you can take to nourish others.
Reflection Questions:
Do you eat grains in your family? If yes, what are your favorite?
What are some sources of water near your home?
What would it look like to be nourished by the first card you pulled?
What would it look like to nourish others with the second card you pulled?
How can you think about these themes during Lughnasadh time?
You should modify this activity to fit your child’s age, interests, and geography. If you are a gluten-free family, talk about what other foods you find nourishing.
Happy summer, witchlings!
A tarot pull for Lughnasadh that is appropriate for adults and children. Card one has an image of rain drops and reads, “What nourishes me?” Card two has an image of wheat and reads, “How can I nourish others?”
